It offers a magnificent, panoramic view of Mt. Yufu and Yufuin Basin, and spacious open-air baths.

The bath has an impressive building with a thatched roof—a rare but lovely sight in this day and age.
Measuring about 182.4m2, the bath tub is made with tataki earth and natural stones, giving it a simple, idyllic air.

A spacious, outstanding open-air bath measuring more than 273.6m2. In the cold mornings of autumn and winter, the bath is shrouded in mist and creates an otherworldly ambiance.
This is a women’s bath, and dressing room and shower area are fully equipped.

Kobo no Yu has the longest history out of Musouen’s open-air baths.
The bath enshrines a Kobo stone with ties to Gomuso Onsen. Enjoy an amazing bath in a hot spring that has been flowing for 600 years.

Particularly in winter, the schedule may change without prior notice due to construction, photo or video shoots, and other reasons.

Note: Reservations are not required for the private family baths. Check whether the bath is occupied at the entrance. If it is unoccupied, you are welcome to use it.
The private bath can be used by only families and groups.

Feel free to stop by the café after taking a bath.

Crème caramel is Musouen’s signature dessert, and has been loved by our guests since it was first served in 1976. Although only made in limited numbers, our crème caramel is slowly made all by hand with local ingredients, and free from additives. The bitterness of caramel and the mellow cream create a perfect balance of flavors.
Enjoy a relaxing time at Ban Ban, where you can take in a panoramic view of Mt. Yufu and Yufuin Basin.

Our kaiseki meals (10 to 13 dishes) are prepared with fresh local vegetables, river fish, and seafood, as well as carefully selected, Kyushu-raised chicken and wagyu beef delivered from our partner butcher.
The dishes served change every month, according to the ingredients and cooking methods that are best for each season.

Note: Turn right at the traffic light in front of the Yufuin I.C. exit and continue along National Route 210 toward Oita for about 2 km. Turn left at Prefectural Route 11, and after about 3 km, turn left.

Food allergies and vegetarian menu We will do everything we can to accommodate your dietary needs, but please understand that we may not be able to meet every request. Please inquire by e-mail.
Bringing your own food and beverages You can bring some outside food and beverages into the hotel.
However, please refrain from bringing outside food and beverages into our restaurants or dining areas.
Parking lot We have a parking lot with spaces for 60 cars. It is free of charge.
Free shuttle bus There is no free shuttle bus service. It takes about five minutes by taxi from Yufuin Station to Musouen, and it costs about 800 yen.
Check-in and check-out times Check-in opens at 15:00, and check-out closes at 11:00. Dinner is served at 18:00 or 19:00.
Please be sure to inform us if you will be arriving later than 19:00. (Please note that we may not be able to provide dinner if you arrive late.)
